Melton College has an established reputation for providing group courses for organisations from all over the world. This page explains what we can offer for Closed Groups. However, the details below are just a starting point, we are happy to tailor the course exactly to the requirements of your group!

What is a Closed Group?

Ten or more students taught in the same class.
When can the College offer Closed Group courses?
Although we can offer Closed Group Courses all year, it is unlikely that we will be able to offer them during the busiest weeks of the summer.
The Timetable
Closed Group Courses are normally skills based. However, we can tailor the tuition to suit the requirements of your group.
Projects
Many groups choose to incorporate their own project ideas into the course and we are happy to help and offer advice.

Airport Transfer Service
Students on Junior Courses will automatically be part of the Airport Transfer Service as it is included in their accommodation fees but are limited to a choice of Manchester or Leeds airports. Junior students are always met on arrival and taken to check-in on departure. Junior Course students may travel as unaccompanied minors but this must be stated in advance and all charges must be covered before the student travels.

Students on Gold Courses will automatically be part of the Airport Transfer Service as it is included in their accommodation fees but are limited to a choice of Manchester or Leeds airports. Gold Course students will not automatically be met on arrival but will receive written details of how to locate their transfer.

Students travelling as part of a group may be subject to the same waiting times as outlined below. If the group contains junior students and is travelling without a leader, they will be met at the airport on arrival and helped with check-in on departure.

Adult groups or groups travelling with a leader will receive written details of how to locate their transfer. Groups of 10 or more students may choose any airport listed below except Stansted, Luton Gatwick and Heathrow. Closed groups pay an additional charge for airport transfers.

Taxi Transfers
All prices in the section below are subject to alteration due to factors beyond our control. Students will be charged the full fare for one student unless booked as a pair or group. Should the taxi be shared the student will be refunded the balance by the College.

Parents who want the refund to be paid to them can request this! All taxi services deliver students directly to their accommodation.

Airport table

Waiting Times
Students may be expected to wait for up to 4 hours at the airport unless they specify, on the application form, that they want an individual transfer. Students requesting an individual transfer will not usually have to wait for more than 45 minutes.

Melton College arranges transfers on the understanding that students should arrive at the airport for check-in 120 minutes before their flight. For departures, waiting times are calculated using these check-in times. On arrival, Melton College assumes that it will take students a minimum of 45 minutes to clear customs (75 minutes at Heathrow and Gatwick). Waiting times on arrival are calculated using published landing time + 45 or + 75 minutes according to airport.

Group Leaders/ Teachers
We are happy to offer free accommodation and transfer for one leader/teacher for the first 10 paying students and then for each
subsequent 15 students. Additional leaders/teachers above this number are charged as per students.

Booking Conditions
The College Booking Conditions apply to closed groups. In addition, closed groups must be arranged and paid for through one
contact. We also ask for a non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total fee payable 12 weeks in advance of the start of the course.
