Social Programme

Your social life is an important part of your time with us.

Melton College runs a full social programme throughout the year so, whenever you come, there will be lots to do!

Throughout the year, for our General English students, the Social Programme is created in line with their wishes and interests. You can attend events such as theatre performances, music concerts and local festivals or trips further afield such as to Edinburgh or London. Although the cost of these activities is not included in the tuition fee, costs are kept to a minimum. Activities and visits are regularly scheduled to introduce you to places of interest and events in and around York such as the York Food Festival, bowling, river cruises and live music events.

During The Summer Course, weekend excursions to places such as the Lake District and Fountain's Abbey are offered as part of the course. In addition, on two evenings each week, we arrange activities either in the College or in the City. Activities include quizzes, barbecues, cinema trips, bowling and discos. After lessons, you can choose to follow the free cultural programme; talks on literature and British life and culture, some given by guest speakers. All of the Summer Course activities are free of charge!

The Gold Course, Easter Course and October Course all have full activity programmes included.
