Gold Courses 2020
Improve your English and enjoy a great city!
We want our older students to share what we can offer and be able to share their thoughts and experiences through English.
Our Gold Course students love to share their views, experiences and impressions. We want you to be able to do this with confidence through English.
|Spring Gold Course||3rd May||28th June|
|Summer Gold Course||2nd August||30th August|
|Christmas Gold Course||22nd November||20th December|
Gold only classes on these courses provided there are a minimum of 4 students per level
We also run three additional Family Gold Courses throughout the year.
Dates are Sundays as accommodation runs from Sunday to Sunday.
The Gold Course is open to anyone over the age of 40 who wants to spend time in the company of like-minded adults. The Course offers a blend of English lessons, social activities, visits and excursions.
The course is a 15 hour General English course from 09:15-13:00, Monday to Friday, followed by an afternoon programme on three afternoons each week.
As one of Europe’s most historic cities, York, with its rich cultural life is an ideal location for courses for older students.
The traffic free centre has a huge choice of bars and restaurants; as well as one of the best selections of shops in the north of England.
We know that students on 40+ courses prefer to be in a class with students of a similar age so we guarantee ‘Gold-only” classes provided there are a minimum number of 4 students per level.
The afternoon programme is designed with older students in mind. The visits are guided by a senior member of the College staff. For students attending the full course, the course finishes with a farewell lunch, a great way to end a memorable stay. The afternoon and evening programme ensures that participants see as much as possible of York and some of the surrounding area.
We select host families with care to ensure homes with good conversation.
