Young Learners Courses 2019

Winter, Easter & October Courses

We want our younger students to become confident communicators and confident individuals.

Often away from home for the first time, communicating through English is part of learning self-reliance and the courage to be independent.

Description

Younger students love York; a safe and fun location to learn English.

The course offers a balance of grammar, speaking, reading, writing and listening. Each Saturday there is a full day excursion.

During the course we run afternoon/evening events including visits to the cinema, ten pin bowling, quizzes and a farewell party, all of which are included in the tuition fees.

Students on our Junior Courses are automatically enrolled on ‘Homestay Extra’; this includes full-board, a local bus pass and airport transfers. We take extra care when selecting homestay families and always try to help with special requests.

Lessons Out

York is a great city for students with lots to see and learn from in the streets, museums and historic buildings. To make the most of this, two afternoon lessons each week will be based in a museum, an attraction or involve an activity in the city.

Accommodation & welfare

We take extra care when selecting families and always try to help with special requests. Student’s under 18 may be required to share a room with a student from a different lanaguage group. We place great emphasis on welfare. All students have to follow the College curfew regulations and we are happy to set earlier times if parents wish. Students on our junior courses are automatically on full-board and all students receive a bus pass.

Please note that for our Winter Course only we offer a free hot drink on arrival in the morning, hot lunch at the school every weekday and, for students under 12, a free school run service (if requested), instead of a bus pass.

Accompanied Transfer Service

The Courses run from Sunday to Sunday. Students are met at Manchester and Leeds Bradford Airports and escorted to York. At the end of their course, we take the students back to the airport, help them with check-in and make sure they go through security in time to catch their plane! For students who have difficulty arranging flights, we can make special arrangements to meet early or late flights or flights to other airports at a small additional cost.
