2018 English Courses for Young Leaners | English Course for Teenagers

Winter Course 2021

3rd January ~ 28th February 2021

We want our younger students to become confident communicators and confident individuals. In addition to classroom lessons, we have a programme of activities to help our students get the most out of their time in York!

Often away from home for the first time, communicating through English is part of learning self-reliance and the courage to be independent. However, we also have a Winter Gold Course running in February so families are welcome!

Key Points:

"I like the tasty food. I made good friends and enjoyed activities outside and in the lessons. The teachers help you and we often work in pairs." - Miroslav aged 12 from Russia

"I like the atmosphere at the College" -  Adeline aged 14 from Germany

"Melton College is a great place to meet a lot of new people from different countries and learn about their cultures. I also like York, it is a beautiful old city with a lot of interesting history." - Rebecca aged 15 from Germany

"I like that you can find new friends and meet new people. I also like the activities in the afternoon." - Kathrin aged 13 from Germany

Younger students love York; a safe and fun location to learn English.

The course offers a balance of grammar, speaking, reading, writing and listening.

During the course we run afternoon/evening events including visits to the cinema, ten pin bowling, and quizzes, all of which are included in the tuition fees. Each Saturday there is a full day excursion.

Students on our Young Learners Courses are automatically enrolled on ‘Homestay Extra’; this includes full-board, a local bus pass (if living in homestay >1.5kms from the College) and airport transfers from Leeds or Manchester.

Lessons Out

York is a great city for students with lots to see and learn from in the streets, museums and historic buildings. To make the most of this, two afternoon lessons each week will be based in a museum, an attraction or involve an activity in the city.
