Summer Gold Course 2025

Summer Gold Course 2025

22nd June - 14th September

Learn English, make friends and explore one of Europe’s top tourist destinations! York is an amazing year-round city and no time is busier than the long summer holidays!  We run Gold Courses throughout the summer from 2nd June through to the 8th September.  To help you choose a time and to make the social programme easy to follow, we have broken the 12 weeks of our summer into 3, 4-week sections.

This page is about our Summer Gold Course.

York in June has very long days and very short nights. The city is getting ready for the high season but, as English children are still at school, the City is still relatively quiet.

York in July is busy. English children are finishing school – so there are lots of school trips. Once the holidays have started, York, as the top English Tourist City outside of London, is buzzing with visitors from all over the world. It’s a time of year when our Gold Course participants really value our large, private garden and our location in a residential part of the City.

York in August – the high point of the high season! York, as the top English Tourist City outside of London, is busy with tourists coming for our world-class attractions like the Minster and the National Railway Museum, coming for the main horse racing events in the calendar, coming for an amazing time in a visitor friendly city within easy reach of so much to see, do and explore. From our base in a peaceful residential part of the City, it’s time to join the crowds and enjoy the atmosphere.

Stay with one or our welcoming Homestay Hosts or treat yourself to a room in Melton Guest House, our boutique hotel,  next door to the College!

The Summer Gold Course runs at the same time as our Young Learners’ Summer Course. Families are welcome and children are welcome to stay in Melton Guest House if they are with one or both parents!  Some of the activities are shared. Please note, some details of the course may evolve over time to cover changes in staff and availability.
