Welcome to York and to Melton College! Easter is a great time to be in York and you are part of the first Young Learners' Course in 2021. We will meet you at the airport, bring you to York and introduce you to your homestay host. You will have a chance to settle in and get to know your surroundings before joining us on Monday Morning at the College. If you are travelling with your parents, you may be staying at our hotel, Bishop's, next door to the College.

Your first morning at College. Your host will help you get to College on time for our start at 0930. We will explain lots of things about York and the College, and how your course is organised. We will have a quick follow-up test to the on-line test you did before arriving and you will then join your new classmates for your first class.

We will help you to get to know the City and to know where everything is. You will have the chance to change money and shop for anything you have forgotten. You will be completing a quiz as you go round and we will mark this with you over games and snacks in a city-centre pub which opens specially for us! Soft-drinks only!

The world's fastest steam train, the Japanese Bullet train and the amazing Royal Carriages. Find them all at the world's largest railway museum!

See who is the best, who can get a strike, who can avoid the gutter. Fun at the bowling alley with food provided.

You will be doing a project in the city centre, connected with work you are doing in class. Talk to locals and visitors, find out about the City. There will even be a little time to visit the shops!

The beautiful Yorkshire Coast and North York Moors are our destination! Sandy beaches, fish and chips and a visit to Hogsmeade Station - see where Harry Potter gets off the train to Hogwarts!

Time to relax (unless you are travelling home!) For our two-week students Easter Sunday is a time to spend with your host, to sleep in for a bit or maybe visit York Minster for the traditional Easter Service. For our one-week students it is time for your transfer back to the airport - have a safe journey!

A fun competition in teams to see who can follow our trail of clues whilst gathering answers around the city centre. We will finish the day in Walmgate Ale House, open just for us, where we will hand out the prizes!

Very, very big, the biggest Gothic cathedral in Northern Europe is also incredibly beautiful and really interesting!

Time to relax at the cinema and watch a new film with your friends!

Last day so time for a party, time to hand out the prizes, have some food and drink, play a few games and challenges to round off your time at Melton College!

An excursion to some beautiful countryside and some interesting shops! Two very different stops on our full-day trip!

For most of you today is when you will be leaving us, transferring to the airport and flying home with great memories of your time in York. The course does continue for two more weeks and for those staying we will prepare the activity programme with you to ensure we do the things you want to do!
