Get to know York on an afternoon tour of the city, including Afternoon Tea!
We will also show you the bus stops, where to change money, the main shopping areas and our meeting points for activities in the City.
The largest Medieval Gothic Cathedral in Northern Europe!

York Minster dominates the city skyline and is the biggest tourist attraction in the region!
We will have a look round, including a guided tour. This is also a great location for a "Lesson Out" so we will be doing some project work based round our visit.

Treasure Hunts are a city-based quiz. The answers are in shop windows and on street signs - but you have to find them!
We will get together at the end to find out who has won and have a hot drink.

It's not all about trains and engineering. This enormous museum also includes the Royal Carriages. See how the British Royal Family from Queen Victoria to Queen Elizabeth II travelled by train!
The first and still the best

Famous for being the first of its kind, the much imitated Jorvik centre is a great introduction to Viking York.
Sit back as your time car carries you round this detailed reconstruction of Viking streets, houses and workshops, then visit the underground museum!
York's haunted history

A great way to hear some stories, a York tradition started by a local teacher to entertain his class!
This is one of our optional extra events and so there is an additional charge per participant. This can be paid online or at the College Café using cash, debit or credit card.

The Royal Armouries is home to one of the world's largest collections of arms and armour, but also provides a fascinating insight into some of the wars which have shaped Europe over the last 1000 years.
The museum is in Leeds and a short walk brings us to the shopping area for some free time!
A day at the seaside

Yorkshire has some of the most dramatic coastline in England with long sandy beaches, high cliffs and some beautiful coastal towns and villages.
We will visit Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby and also have the chance to visit Goathland - home to Hogsmead station, a must for Harry Potter fans!

Medieval townhouse

Barley Hall is a reconstructed medieval townhouse in the city of York, England. It was built around 1360 by the monks of Nostell Priory near Wakefield and extended in the 15th century.

Harewood is a great stately home, coming to terms with its history and involvement in the slave trade. The house is home to a stunning collection of art and furniture and also has a lake, gardens and a bird garden. Harrogate is a charming spa town with some good shopping and a famous tea room!

Rievaulx Abbey is a peaceful valley in the North York Moors. See the impressive ruins of one of England's most powerful Cistercian monasteries. Helmsley is a beautiful little market town and the gateway to the Yorkshire moors, with great ice cream available.
