We look forward to welcoming you to York and to Melton College!

Make sure you have all your luggage. If anything is missing, you must complete a lost baggage form in the baggage collection area. Please use the toilets in the baggage area as we do not plan to stop on our journey to York, which will take just over 90 minutes.

On arrival in York we will have a light meal ready for you. However, we will not be offended if you want to go straight to bed!

Breakfast will be ready for you in the Hotel Dining Room from 0830. Bishops is next door to the College so I suggest you use the garden door, cross to the College garden, and go in through the Conservatory door.

Your lessons will be in the South Room. Each morning you will have four lessons, each lasting for 45 minutes.

Every afternoon we have an activity for you! Because of the current restrictions, these are subject to change but keep visiting this page to find all the latest information.

Get to know York through a guided tour with one of the College staff. We will provide a light lunch in the Bishop's Hotel Dining Room and then set off into the City! The tour is on foot and about 5kms long.

The largest Gothic Cathedral in Northern Europe, the best collection of medieval stained glass in the world, with over 100 windows and over 2,000,000 pieces of glass! The Minster is the centrepiece of any visit to the City! You will have a private guided tour. We will meet outside the Minster. Before the tour, you will have some time to explore the City and find some lunch!

A guided visit to the largest railway museum in the world! It's not all about trains. The museum is also home to the amazing Royal Carriages! See how Queen Victoria went on holiday! We will meet at the Museum. Before the tour, you will have some time to explore the City and find some lunch!

As it's the end of the week, our evening meal will be a barbecue in the College Garden!

Visit the Yorkshire Dales National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The first stop is in Wharfedale, the most beautiful of the Dales, at Bolton Abbey. We then travel to Grassington, a charming market town which is the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.

Your plane is at 0605! Assuming you want to check in at least 90 minutes before departure, and given the journey to Manchester Airport from York takes over 90 minutes, this means you will leave from outside the Hotel at 0300. The bus will be available for loading from 0245. You will be given breakfast to take to your room on the Saturday evening. PLEASE SET YOUR ALARM! WE MUST LEAVE ON TIME SO YOU CAN CATCH YOUR PLANE!
