Welcome! We hope you have a great time in York and at Melton College. We have a busy and varied programme planned for you! We have tried to include something for everyone and to really give the flavour of York and Yorkshire in history, culture, traditions, drink and food. Of course, all the events are optional and you can join as many of the activities as you wish!

Beverley is a market town in the historic East Riding of Yorkshire. It is best known for Beverley Minster, a Gothic masterpiece and one of the largest parish churches in the UK. The town also contains the remains of North Bar, a medieval gateway and Grade 1 listed building.
Home to the Howard family for over 300 years, Castle Howard is a magnificent 18th Century House designed by Sir John Vanbrugh, set within the Howardian Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Sunday is a free day but if you are not travelling it is a great time to explore York on your own or, perhaps, go further afield! Remember, Edinburgh, Liverpool, London and Manchester are all within reach. Speak to the staff about options and ideas.

Yorkshire has been a centre of cheese making for centuries and the iconic Wensleydale - made more famous by "Wallace and Gromit" is just one of a great range of local cheeses to try!

Vist the Yorkshire Dales National Park, an area of outstandng natural beauty.
The first stop is in Wharfedale, the most beautiful of the dales, at Bolton Abbey. Next we go to Skipton, a charming market town.

England has a great tradition of brewing and there is an amazing range of beers! Find out and try some of them on a guided tour of British Beer!

Visit the beautiful seaside towns of Whitby and Robin Hood's bay. Robin Hoods Bay is one of the most beautiful villages on the Yorkshire Coast. Walk down to the very steep village street to the shore and go on the beach (if the tide is out!). Next stop is Whitby, famous for Captain Cook, Dracula, and Whitby Abbey. We shall return to York via Goathland - home to Hogsmeade Station!
